What is Hydraulic Treatment Chair for Salon?
A hydraulic treatment chair, also known as a hydraulic treatment table or hydraulic therapy chair, is a piece of equipment commonly used in medical, therapeutic, and spa settings. It is designed to provide a comfortable and adjustable platform for patients or clients during various treatments, examinations, or therapies.
Here are some key features and benefits of a hydraulic treatment chair:
Height Adjustment: Hydraulic treatment chairs are equipped with a hydraulic system that allows easy height adjustment. This feature enables healthcare professionals or therapists to position the chair at an optimal height for their work, ensuring convenience and proper ergonomics.
Backrest and Leg Rest Adjustment: The chair typically offers adjustable backrest and leg rest sections. This allows patients or clients to be positioned in different angles, from seated to reclined or fully supine, depending on the treatment or therapy being performed.
Comfort and Padding: Hydraulic treatment chairs usually have cushioned upholstery or padding to provide comfort and support during prolonged treatments or therapies. The padding is often made of durable and easy-to-clean materials for hygiene purposes.
Stability and Durability: These chairs are designed to be sturdy and stable, ensuring the safety and security of the patient or client. They are often constructed with strong materials like steel or aluminum, capable of supporting varying body weights.
Versatility: Hydraulic treatment chairs are versatile in their applications. They can be used in various healthcare settings, including medical clinics, physical therapy centers, chiropractic offices, and beauty spas. The chairs are adaptable for different types of treatments such as examinations, massages, physical therapies, aesthetic procedures, and more.
Maneuverability: Some hydraulic treatment chairs feature wheels or casters, allowing easy movement and positioning within the treatment room. This feature is particularly useful when the chair needs to be relocated or adjusted frequently.
Hygienic Design: Many hydraulic treatment chairs come with removable or washable upholstery, making it easier to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. This is especially important in healthcare environments where infection control is crucial.
Patient Accessibility: The adjustable height and positioning capabilities of hydraulic treatment chairs enhance patient accessibility. Patients with mobility issues or those who have difficulty getting on and off a standard treatment table can benefit from the chair's easy access and comfortable support.
It's worth noting that the specific features and functionalities of hydraulic treatment chairs may vary depending on the manufacturer and model. If you are considering purchasing or using a hydraulic treatment chair, it's recommended to research different options and consult with suppliers or healthcare professionals to find the one that best suits your specific needs and requirements.
Hydraulic treatment chairs are a great way to provide comfort and relaxation for your clients at an affordable price. In this blog we will cover a few hydraulic treatment chair safety tips so you can keep your clients safe, happy and coming back for more treatments.
Leveling Feet
The first tip is to make sure that the floor in your room is neither wet nor slippery. You also want to make sure, when you place your chair in your treatment room, that the base is level and flat. If yours has any wobble, it could be caused by an uneven floor or the leveling feet on the bottom of the base are not extended to the same length. All of our hydraulic chairs come with adjustable feet for leveling the base. When you rock the chair the foot that clears the floor is the one that will need to be adjusted. Just spin the foot to raise or lower it until the rocking of the base is gone. If your leveling feet have an adjustable nut, one you can hold the rubber part in place and spin the nut until it reaches the metal of the base. This will help keep the whole leveling foot in its place.
Getting On/Off
Before your client gets on or off the chair make sure that the back rest is up, the leg rest is down and the chair is at its lowest height. Make sure to have the courtesy stopper up. The courtesy stopper makes it much more difficult to rotate the chair. It doesn't lock the chair completely but it can help prevent accidental chair rotation. It also helps to have one of the armrests moved out of the way or removed completely. Finally make sure to keep a hand on the back rest whenever a client is getting on or off. Inform the client that they should only sit on the seat cushion in the middle. Also when getting off the chair they should do so only from the seat cushion in the middle. No one should ever try to sit on the leg rest or backrest portion of the chair because these sections were not designed to hold a person's weight. Once the client is seated you can insert the armrest back in place if needed. The courtesy stopper should remain up when the chair does not need to be rotated.
Orientation
Whether the chair is upright or flat, another important thing is to keep the top portion in line with the base. You'll see that the base is going in this direction so it's good to have the top portion pointing in the same direction. This will help keep the chair's stability high. Having the top portion tilted relative to the base is not the safest orientation. We do not recommend having a client on the chair in this orientation especially if it's in the flat position.
Rotation
If you need to rotate the chair with the client on, we recommend bringing the backrest up and the leg rest down then you can rotate. Make sure to rotate the chair by holding on to the head portion of the backrest. Rotating the chair from the middle seat cushion could cause the chair to rotate too quickly so we do not recommend doing that. If for whatever reason you need to rotate the bed in the flat position with a client on it, you must hold the headrest area from underneath as you're rotating until the top portion is in line with the base again and when you're done rotating, bring the courtesy stopper up at the end of your session. You'll want to set the chair up as it was when your client got on. Put it into the full upright chair position and at its lowest height, bring the courtesy stopper up and move or remove one of the arms, keep a hand on the backrest portion and ask the client to get off from the middle cushion. Always keep in mind, any hydraulic or electric treatment chair that is only supported by one shaft in the middle of the seat cushion is not suitable for full body massage. However, our hydraulic treatment chairs are perfect for med spas and day spas.
Thank you for taking the time to familiarize yourself with these hydraulic treatment chair safety tips.
Remember that when operating an hydraulic or electric rotating facial bed or treatment table it's always the operator's responsibility to ensure the safety of their clients.
